Pre-Appraisal checklist

Avoid exercise or strenuous exertion on day of assessment

Avoid caffeine for 3 hours prior to the assessment

Avoid eating 3 hours before the assessment

Avoid smoking for 3 hours before the assessment

Ensure adequate hydration during the 24 hours preceding the assessment

Wear the same clothing to each assessment, which allows freedom of movement

Arrive in plenty of time to allow pulse and blood pressure to settle before recording
