Star Runners


Running is a fantastic form of exercise. Nothing beats simply putting your running shoes on ( and a sports bra if necessary) and heading straight out of your house for a run. I have been running for some 25 years and within reason have enjoyed every mile.

I can’t actually run for you, however I can offer you the next best thing; support and expert advice to help you along your own running pathway.

Whether you simply want to shed some pounds, become fitter or exceed your last personal best, I aim to help you to be able to achieve your goals. Each session is structured around;

  • a warm up
  • dynamic stretching
  • the main session
  • running specific leg work
  • cool down
  • stretches.

The sessions have varied terrain, with the majority being off road, having the benefit of being surrounded by National Trust Parkland and woodland.

We have lots of fun and currently meet at the following times;

Monday          9am       Expect to run between 5-8 miles   Furze Platt Junior School entrance

Wednesday    9am       For the true beginner                        Furze Platt Junior School entrance

Thursday        6.45pm  Intervals, speed work                        Braywick Athletics Track

Friday             9am        Expect to run 3-5 miles                    Furze Platt Junior School entrance


We currently have 8 of us about to run Reading Half Marathon and they will be wearing their Star Runners named T-shirts with pride.
